Framingham – Mr. David R. Henry, of Framingham, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was 76.
David was born in Waltham on May 12, 1945, a son of the late George and Bertha (Johnson) Henry. After graduating from Waltham High School in 1965 and served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
A Framingham resident for more than twenty years he worked as a quality control manager for Plating for Electronics on Calvary Street in Waltham until his retirement.
History was Dave's passion. He was a self-taught expert in United States history and local history. He helped to co-found the Waltham Museum and served on its board of directors for several years.
He had an eclectic list of hobbies and interests. He and his wife, Florine, enjoyed many road trips across the country but trips to Maine and to Canada were tops on their list. He loved the Boston Red Sox and baseball memorabilia of all kinds. His metal detector was never far from reach and he was the rare collector of prizes from Cracker Jacks boxes. He and Florine also loved antiquing throughout their travels.
He leaves his wife, Florine (Richard) Henry; his children, Brenda Spencer of Lexington, David Spencer of Waltham and Robert Spencer (Claudine) of Whitinsville; his grandchildren, Vanessa Robichaud (Matt) of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Tyler and Cody Spencer of Whitinsville; his great-grandson, Dean Robichaud; his brother, William Henry of Houston, Texas and his sister, Joan Corriveau of Waltham.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
