David Ladd Milbert

Waltham - Mr. David Ladd Milbert, of Waltham, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston after a short illness. He was 53.

David was born August 11, 1957 in Manhattan, New York, a son Sara Emerson Farwell and the late Seymour Milbert. He was a proud graduate of Greenwich School in Greenwich, Connecticut and later earned a certificate from the New York Institute of Photography. He lived a few years in Seattle and later White Plains and Purchase, New York before moving to Waltham eleven years ago.

He was a self-employed photographer as well as a published poet. An accomplished writer with a talent and passion for poetry he recently had five of his poems published in “Awakenings Review”. He also was a talented musician and a love for music. With a tune in his heart he was often seen and heard playing his banjo. His family recalls that what brought him such personal happiness were the days he graduated from high school and the day he married his wife, Lisa.

David loved life. He had such a tremendous and contagious sense of humor and ability to make others laugh and smile. He was deeply spiritual and religious and was a member of the Weston United Methodist Church.

He is predeceased by his father and his sister, Judy Milbert.

He leaves his wife of 6 years, K. Lisa (Jee) Milbert; step-children, Kevin M. Corcoran and his wife, Keryn, of Hillsborough, New Hampshire, Christine L. Canton and her husband, Devin, of Worcester and Daniel J. Corcoran of Waltham; his mother, Sara Emerson Farwell of Waltham; his sister, Katherine Glass and her husband, Jonathan, of Maynard; two step-grandchildren, Domenic and Davian Canton; his nephews, Robin and Joshua Glass; and a very large extended family across the country.

Family and friends will honor and remember David’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, July 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday morning in The Weston United Methodist Church, 377 North Avenue, Weston, when his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.

Interment will be private.
