David W. Noonan, Jr.

Mr. David W. Noonan, Jr., of Scituate, died at home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 following a period of declining health. He was 78.

David was born in Kansas City, Kansas on July 28, 1946, a son of the late David W. and Margaret M. (Griffin) Noonan. As an infant his family settled in Scituate where he completed his schooling and would be a lifelong resident.

David worked in public relations and event planning for many years. One highlight of his career was his part in the refurbishing of the “Citgo Sign” – a beloved hallmark of the Boston city skyline.

He served as chairman of numerous benefit events and gala’s on behalf of The Boston Conservatory of Music, The Art Institute of Boston, The Boston Ballet, The Faneuil Hall Restoration Committee and The Massachusetts Lafayette Society.

David was also an archivist and lecturer for Scituate’s Lost Art Colony. He enjoyed being a sought after tour guide and historian throughout Boston and its environs.

In addition to his parents, David is reunited in Heaven with his brother, Michael Noonan.

He is survived by his sisters and brother, Margaret M. Carroll (James) of Greenville, South Carolina, Mary Rose Delaney (Michael) of Waltham, and Thomas J. Noonan (Gail) of Carver and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Family and friends will honor and remember David’s life by gathering for a Morning Wake on Thursday, January 23rd in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20) Waltham from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Patrick’s Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown, where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be held privately at a later date in Saint John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.
