Wells, Maine - Mrs. Delmina M. (Ferranti) Subilia, of Wells, formerly of Weston, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 in the Pavilion of Southern Maine Health Care Center. She was 91.
Delmina was born in Waltham on February 10, 1923 a daughter of the late Joseph and Delmina (Benotti) Ferranti, and was a graduate of Weston High School. She was raised in Weston where she lived until the early 1950's. Delmina moved to Windham NH in1950 then moved to Salem NH in 1957. In 1966 she and her husband, Maurice, began to move due to his work. They lived in Oklahoma, Montana, New Mexico and Louisiana before finally settling in Wells Maine.
Delmina was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed handcrafts, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and gardening.
She was the beloved wife of the late Maurice H. Subilia, Sr. and a sister of the late Delfo, Delmo, Fernando, and Joseph Ferranti, Ada Morreale, Laura Casella, Mary Cassella, and Rosina Napolitano.
Delmina is survived by her children, Maurice H. Subilia, Jr. and his wife, Linda Hackler of Kennebunkport, Maine, Sandra S. Powers and her husband, Richard of Manchester, New Hampshire, Robert J. Subilia and his wife, Sally of Wells, Maine and Michael J. Subilia and his wife, Jeanne of Wells, Maine; her sister, Clara Cappello of Weston; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Delmina's life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, January 23rd, from 4-7 pm in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in St. Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Rd., Weston. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
