Mr. Den Marc Jovin, of Waltham, died Thursday, February 17, 2022 in his home. He was 66.
Den Marc was born on September 15, 1955 in Jacmel, Haiti, a son of the late Vilbert and Lermina (Pierre) Jovin. Raised and educated in Haiti, he immigrated to the United States in 1981 settling in Waltham. He had worked for many years as a lab technician for Quest Diagnostics and he along with his wife were the founders and Pastors of United Hearts Pentecote Church located in Brighton, MA.
Denmarc was a sensitive, loving person. Never one to stay idle for too long, Den Marc spent many days outside tending to his plentiful vegetable garden and was a self-taught piano player. He loved sharing his gifts and talents with relatives and friends alike, filling his home and even his church with beautiful melodies. He enjoyed traveling near and far (especially when the destination was warm!) and loved visiting places overseas. He made many happy memories visiting Dennis on Cape Cod with his family each summer. Den Marc was an active member of Calvary Christian Church, where he was able to grow in his faith and form everlasting friendships.
He leaves his wife of more than forty-three years, Gertrude V. Cineas-Jovin; his daughter, Noldy Jovin-Seide (Mario Kempes Seide) of Waltham and spiritual daughter Marie A. Alcinor (Rood Severe) of Randolph; fathered Cassandre Nelson of Pennsylvania; Romulda Delorme of Randolph; Meghan Policard of Waltham; Lydia Legerme and her husband of Haiti; Rose Camille Metayer (Vernaldi Metayer) of Hyde Park; Enrico Timothee of Rhode Island; Steve Gerome (Gwendolyn Gerome) of Randolph; Marvin Cineas of Randolph; Osner Blanchard (Antoinette Blachard) of Everett; and his grandchildren, Gabriel-Abel and Isabella Seide of Waltham; his siblings, Velou Jovin (Yanick Jovin) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Reynolds Jovin of Brooklyn, New York, Guivemen Michel (Nestor Michel) of Long Island, New York and Wisley Simbert (Jean Simbert) of Brooklyn, New York; in-laws Marie G. Cineas of Randolph, Rose M. Bartheleny and Nadia Maria Policard (Ronald Policard) of Waltham; and beloved nieces Naby Michel and her husband of Long Island, NY; Jeanou Simbert of Brooklyn, NY; Reina Sabine (Heudriss) Turenne of Long Island; Juana Bourdeau of Pennsylvania; Renaldine Jovin of Brooklyn, NY; Tama and Taniola Jovin of Philadelphia, PA; and cherished nephews Carl Deye of Randolph; Witt Genson Jovin of Philadelphia, PA; Kevin Michel and his wife of Long Island, NY; Nendler Michel and his wife of Long Island, NY; Kenley Jovin of Long Island, NY; Joey Simbert of Brooklyn, NY; and great-nephews Jonathan Delorme-Kelly of Randolph; Zechariah Edmonds of Pennsylvania; Danny Timothee of Brockton; Maxell Turenne of Long Island, NY; Mael Hassan Legerme of Haiti; and great nieces Kimora Turenne of Long Island, NY; Rose Axelle Gerome; Isadora Legerme and many more. His beloved God daughter Malika Michaud from Florida; Lastly he leaves behind his very best friend and cousin Levelt Jovin.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Den Marc's life on Wednesday, February 23rd in Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove Street, Lynnfield where his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gethsamane Cemetery in West Roxbury.
