Boston - Mr. Derek W. Nally, of Boston, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, July 3, 2011. He was 39.
He was born on January 22, 1972 in Waltham a son of the late William L. and Jessie (Woodland) Nally. He graduated from Waltham Vocational High School, class of 1990 and served in the United States Navy.
Derek worked in construction for many years for various companies.
Derek’s pleasures and interests in life were simple. He loved fishing and boating and his favorite spot was White’s Pond in Concord. He also enjoyed camping and sports. His sisters describe him as the best uncle in the world to his seven nieces and nephews. Derek also had a deep spiritual faith that helped him through life’s challenges each day. With a passion for writing and a talent for recording his thoughts he was often writing in his journal that his family now treasures.
He is predeceased by his parents.
He leaves his siblings, William H. Nally and his wife, Lillia, of Los Angeles, California, Cheryl A. Wolfe and her husband, Doug, of Norfolk, Catherine E. Brennan and her husband, Paul, of Nashua, New Hampshire, Susan M. Giugno and her husband, Jim, of Waltham ; his nieces & nephews, Lillie and Billie Nally, Jonathan and Jeffrey LeBlanc, Madison Brennan and Sydney and James Giugno; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Derek's life by gathering to visit on Saturday, July 9th, from 10 - 11 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20) Waltham, followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
