Waltham – Diane E. Beley, of Waltham, died Friday, October 14, 2016 in her home. She was 58.
Known affectionately to her family as 'Dede' and to friends as 'Dee', she was born in Lowell on April 8, 1958, a daughter of the late Robert and Joan (Connolly) Beley.
She lived in Waltham before moving as a child with her family to Arlington where she was a 1976 graduate of Arlington High School. After that attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Diane's first job came as a waitress at the well-known Fantasia's, a now closed restaurant on Concord Avenue in Cambridge and after that worked for a number of years in the office at Fawcett Fuel Company.
She enjoyed camping, ice fishing on the Charles River and traveling to Prince Edward Island, Canada and to Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
Diane leaves her siblings, Cynthia A. Beley of Arlington, Eric W. Beley and his partner, Carol, of Wilton, New Hampshire, Jacquelyn M. Cooney and her husband, Jeff, of Burlington and Wendy J. Cornell and her husband, Jeff, of Green Bay, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Diane's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, October 20th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
