Diane M. Skarbek

Waltham – Mrs. Diane M. (Gaudet) Skarbek, of Waltham, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. She was 56.

Diane was born in Waltham on February 13, 1954 and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and Salem State College. Diane had worked as a project secretary for the Parexell Company in Waltham and before that as an administrative assistant at the Raytheon Corporation.

She leaves her husband of 26 years, Steven J. Skarbek; her daughter, Nicole M. Skarbek of Waltham; her father and step-mother, Ret. Waltham Police Detective Lieutenant J. Edward and Yvonne M. (Brouillette) (Tashjian) Gaudet of Lexington; her father and mother-in-law, Stanley and Josephine (Caulfield) Skarbek of South Boston and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Diane was also the mother of the late Ulysses S. Skarbek and daughter of the late Grace H. (McNeill) Gaudet.

Family and friends will honor and remember Diane’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
