Mr. Donald M. Armstrong, of Saugus, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at home. He was 42.
Donny was born November 23, 1970 in Waltham a son of Mary C. (Noble) Armstrong and the late Henry Armstrong. He was a graduate of Waltham High School, class of 1988 where he was a standout athlete on the basketball team. He lived many years in Waltham before moving to Lynn and later Saugus where he has lived for the last ten years.
Donny's professional career began in sales for Innovation Inc. in which he was a top sales leader. He had a passion for real estate and construction. He owned and operated Green Light Real Estate on Main Street in Saugus. He had a knack for finding properties, diamonds in the rough, and would rehab the property and manage to sell it within a reasonable amount of time. He was good at what he did.
He enjoyed poker and would get together with his regular group of friends to play. He was also a member of a few basketball leagues at the Y.
He is predeceased by his father, Henry.
Donny leaves his wife, Damary (Lopez) Armstrong; his daughters, Sara and Eva; his mother, Mary, all in Saugus, and his aunt and uncle, Patricia J. & Max Bonilla of Watertown.
Family and friends will honor and remember Donny's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, February 27th, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
