Waltham – Mr. Donald J. Casey, of Waltham, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at his home. He was 78.
Don was born in South Boston on January 23, 1934, a son of the late Maurice G. and Mabel A. (Talbot) Casey, and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School. After that he served with the United States Army during the Korean War.
On April 28, 1962 he married his sweetheart, Newton native Kathleen F. Linnehan, at Sacred Heart Church in Newton Centre. He was a lifelong Boston sports fan. Don took meticulous care of his yard and enjoyed taking his beloved dog, Taz, for walks but what was most important to him was his family and spending time with them, especially with the nine grandchildren who lovingly called him Papa.
