Waltham - Mr. Donald A. Connelly passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 26, 2008. He was 70. Born in Waltham on May 19, 1938, a son of the late Stephen and Lillian (Hudson) Connelly, Donald worked as a mail carrier for thirty-seven years until his retirement in 2003. For the last five years, Donald was a driver for W.C.T. in Waltham. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, building models, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Donald attended St. Joseph's Grammer School, and Waltham High School and had also served with the Massachusett National Guard. He was a brother of the late Frederick, Francis, Stephen and Robert Connelly and Phyllis Pitts and son- in-law of the late Henry J. Hayes. Donald leaves his devoted wife of forty-seven years, T. Arlene (Hayes) Connelly; his children, Janice Elmalouk and her husband, Radouane, of Waltham, Barbara Arsenault and her husband, Chris, of Billerica, Diane Connelly of Maynard, John Connelly of Waltham, Joseph Connelly and his wife, Janet, of Rockland, Jane Morway and her husband, Richard, of Windham, New Hampshire, Ann Duggan and her husband, Tom, of Andover, and Stepehen Connelly of Waltham; his sisters, Carolyn Connelly of Waltham and Muriel Grossman of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; his mother-in-law, Rose Hayes of Waltham; his grandchildren, David, Barbara, Ann, James, Michael, Liam, Rorey, Paige and Jessie and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
