Waltham – Mr. Donald F. Duffy, of Waltham, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was 83.
Donald was born on in Somerville on January 3, 1933, a son of the late Daniel and Marian (Forbes) Duffy. He graduated from Somerville High School and earned his degree from Boston College. He married Shirley E. (Freedman) Duffy on September 11, 1960 and the couple made their home in Waltham in 1964.
Until his retirement he worked at MIT Research Laboratory of Electronics as Financial Officer for 31 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and also writing, boating, jogging, Wal-Lex bowling and golf.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Shirley (Freedman) Duffy; his daughter, Cheryl Judd and her husband, Mark, of Holliston; his son, Donald M. Duffy and his wife, Dina, of Saco, Maine; his grandchildren, Michelle Judd-Gahan and her husband, Matt, Michael Judd and Meredith Duffy and his great-granddaughter Jacalyn.
Funeral services are private.
