Donald George McInnis, 83, passed away on August 22, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Joan, of 60 years. Don and Joan were loving parents to their son, Donald Jr., who passed away at age eighteen.
Don was employed by Boston College for approximately thirty-eight years and worked as the head of automotive maintenance.
One cannot talk about Don without talking about Joan. They were an everlasting team in all of their endeavors, from building custom homes in the Lincoln, MA area to navigating the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
After Don retired from B.C., the couple enjoyed many winters cruising through the British Virgin Islands on their sailboat. They also cruised along the Atlantic coast, from Maine to Florida. Don and Joan moved to Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard, where they spent many years enjoying the lifestyle of the island.
Don is also survived by his sister, Mary Holmes, brothers Frank Spicer and John McInnis, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Don's life by gathering on Saturday, August 27th, at 10:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham where his Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln.
