Donald P. Vincuilla

Framingham – Don Vincuilla was the type of guy who was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. As a jack of all trades he was most capable of tackling a project for family, friends and neighbors and it was helping others that made him happy. He was generous with his time and talents and did it all with great love.

Happiness and relaxation also came in the form of a motorcycle ride, a full tank of gas and twisty roads. He loved the freedom of a ride on one of his motorcycles, and while he loved his Harley he confessed that his Honda motorcycle was one of his favorites. Keep calm and ride on. He also treasured time on the sand and in the waters of White Horse Beach in Manomet where they had a cottage.

Don died peacefully at home on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 22nd with his family by his side. He was 59.

Donald P. Vincuilla was born September 20, 1959 in Waltham a son of the late George and Margaret (Coneeny) Vincuilla. Raised in Waltham he graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1977. He married Watertown native Susan E. Falter on September 17, 1988 at Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, New Hampshire. They made New Hampshire their home for a few years before settling in Framingham in 1993.

Don was an active member of IBEW Local 1505, working as a precision sheet metal mechanic and quality control inspector for Raytheon Corporation for 40 years. He loved his work and the many friendships that developed at Raytheon. And while he wasn't a veteran of the armed forces he felt he was contributing to the country through his profession.

In addition to his wife of 30 years, Susan, he leaves their children, First Lieutenant Leah E. Vincuilla, United States Air Force, of Framingham and Andrew D. Vincuilla of Brighton; his siblings, Laura Lally (late Jim), Marsha Powers (William), Carol MacKenzie (Rick), all of Waltham and George Vincuilla (Debra) of Watertown; his mother-in-law Theresa A. (Hobin) Falter of Watertown; his in-law's Thomas Falter (Brenda), Deborah Walsh (Arthur), all of Greenville, NH, Edward Falter (Nancy) of Pepperell, Leo Falter (Debbie) of Watertown; also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Donald's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. His Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 28th in The Wilson Chapel at Newton Theological Seminary, 234 Herrick Road, Newton at 11 a.m. Burial is private.

Any service members attending are invited to dress in uniform to honor Don's love for his country, contribution through Raytheon and pride of his daughter's service.

In line with his giving spirit, Don enjoyed riding his motorcycle for a cause. Each year he rode in the Blackbeard Memorial Ride with family and friends to honor the life of SSG Matthew A. Pucino by contributing to local veterans and their families in need. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the SSG Matthew A.
