Donna M. (Carroll) Butler

Watertown - Donna M. (Carroll) Butler, of Watertown, died Monday, June 25, 2018 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after an illness. She was 70.

Donna was born August 21, 1947 in Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. Raised and educated in Watertown she was a graduate of Watertown High School with the class of 1966. She was married to the late Robert O. Butler who died January 6, 1990.

Her interests included ceramics and painting and she taught classes from her home. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading and time spent with her family.

She leaves her children, Pamela J. McPhail and her husband, William Mason, Shawn C. Sturtevant, James R. Sturtevant and Robert E. Butler, all of Watertown; her grandchildren Jason and Matthew McPhail, Jake Glancy, Bryan, Shawn, Angelina and James Sturtevant; her siblings, James P. Carroll (Barbara) of Nashua, New Hampshire, John T. Carroll of Watertown, Mary A. Bonilla (late Carlos) of Billerica, Lauramae Duffy (Thomas) of Easton and the late Francis X. Carroll; also survived by nieces & nephews.

She was also the grandmother of the late Kasey McPhail.

Family and friends will honor and remember Donna's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, June 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
