Nashua, New Hampshire – Mrs. Donna M. (Beecher) O'Connell, of Nashua, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Kindred Greenbriar in Nashua. She was 82.
Donna was born in Schenectady, New York on January 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Clifford and Josephine (Granger) Beecher. She graduated from Newton High School and furthered her education at both Lasell College in Newton and Boston University. Until her retirement in 1996, she worked as an office manager at Fischer Beverage in Waltham.
In March of 1951 she married Charles F. O'Connell in St. Mary's Church, Waltham. The couple established their home in the Cedarwood section of Waltham where they would raise their girls, eventually retiring to New Hampshire in 1997.
Donna was beautiful, fun, feisty, determined, but most of all loving. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to travel, whether it was to the Cape, Aruba, Florida, Vermont or to her favorite destination, Ogunquit Beach in Maine. She was active by nature and enjoyed skiing, golfing and especially dancing.
In addition to her beloved husband, Charles, she leaves her daughters, Karen A. Stone and her husband, Dale, of Nashua, New Hampshire and Cheryl M. Botte and her husband, Michael, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Katelyn M. Stone, Jessica E. Stone, Michael J. Botte and Gregory C. Botte and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Clifford H. Beecher, Jr. of Atkinson, New Hampshire and the late Janet Murphy of Newton.
Family and friends will honor and remember Donna's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29th in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
