Weston - Mrs. Dora Rita (Morelli) O'Halloran, of Weston, formerly of Waltham and Lexington died in Newton-Wellesley Hospital on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. She was 96.
She was born on December 26, 1918 in Cambridge, the loving daughter of Bernardo and Catherina (Barbieri) Morelli of Parma, Italy. Raised and educated in Lexington she graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1936. She married the love of her life, Richard J. O'Halloran in Saint Agnes Church in Arlington on January 13, 1945 and was married until his early and untimely death on January 21, 1972. Prior to marriage she worked at John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston and after her husband's death she worked fulltime at CVS in Waltham for many years. She moved to Weston to live with her daughter in 2011.
Dora loved her family and enjoyed time spent with all of them. Her hobbies included reading,knitting, painting and was active in earlier years as troop leader for Brownies and taught in the CCD program at Our Lady's Church in Waltham.
In addition to her husband, Richard she is predeceased by her siblings, Edmund and Frank Morelli, Irma Valerio, Mary Morrison and step-siblings Charlie, Robert, Edward, Fred and Olga Trebino;
She leaves her cherished children, Eileen Mary O'Halloran of Weston, Patricia (O'Halloran) Nash and her husband, Dermot Nash of Newton, Richard 'Kevin' O'Halloran and his wife, Deanna of Groton, Kathleen O'Halloran and her companion, Jim Duggan of Hudson, and Brian O'Halloran and his wife, Karen of Hyannis; also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
