Framingham - Mrs. Doris K. (Tenanty) Bowman, of Framingham, formerly of Waltham, died Monday, November 9, 2009 at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. She was 89. Doris was born in Waltham on April 2, 1920, a daughter of the late Jack and Louise (Rooney) Tenanty and was a graduate of Waltham High School. Until her retirement she worked as a secretary for many years for the Massachusetts State Police in Framingham. Doris had lived in Waltham before moving to Framingham fifty years ago. The beloved wife of the late Leo R. Bowman, Doris was the loving mother of Barbara D. Bowman-Sandler of New York, New York, John R. Bowman of Natick, Leo R. Bowman, Jr. of Washington, D.C., Rosemary Bowman of South Boston and Kathryn L. Rosseel of Sudbury. She was also the devoted grandmother of Molly and Maeve Bowman and Patrick and Katie Rosseel and also leaves many loving nieces and nephews. Doris was also the sister of the late Rosemary Kane and Louise Vereker. Family and friends will honor and remember Doris's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to Metrowest Medical Center, 115 Lincoln Street, Framingham, Ma 01701.
