Waltham - Mrs. Doris M. (Aucoin) Dunham, of Waltham, died Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was 86.
Doris was born in Waltham on June 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Simon and Christina (Chiasson) Aucoin, and had been a lifelong resident.
She married Charles F. 'Pat' Dunham on September 11, 1954 in Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham. The pair made Waltham their home where they would raise their seven children. Until her retirement she had worked as a bookkeeper at Guarantee Trust Company in Waltham. In retirement she enjoyed playing bingo and her nightly card games with friends at The Mill on Moody Street.
The wife of the late Charles F. "Pat" Dunham and leaves her children, Elaine M. Waldo (Richard) of Farmington, Connecticut, Patricia A. Meyer (Denis Dorgan) of Newton, Michael F. Dunham of Woburn, John J. Dunham (Mila) of Midwest City, Oklahoma, David C. Dunham (Erin) of Stoneham, and Dennis P. Dunham of N. Attleboro; her grandchildren, Kristen Skulte (Andris), Steven Dunham, Reynold Martinez (Cynthia), Matthew, Sean and Timothy Dunham; her great-grandchildren, Eli Skulte, Jovan and Kylan Martinez; her brother-in-law, James O'Sullivan of Easton and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was also the mother of the late Paul E. Dunham and sister of the late John Aucoin, Joseph Aucoin, Sr. Marguerite Aucoin, RCE and Lucille O'Sullivan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Doris's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, October 11th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
