Mrs. Doris E. (LeMay) Keane, of Canton, formerly of Waltham, West Yarmouth and North Easton, died Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her side. She was 92.
Doris was born on September 8, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey a daughter of the late Raymond J. and Isabelle (McDonald) LeMay. Raised in Waltham she graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1946. She married Edward J. Keane on October 29, 1950 in Saint Mary's Church. They made Waltham their home for many years before moving to West Yarmouth and later North Easton in 2014. Her husband, Ed died May 19, 2008.
In earlier years she worked as a waitress at The Chateau Restaurant and then as a bookkeeper for over 25 years at Acton Metal Processing before retiring in 1991.
While living on the Cape she was a longtime volunteer at the Hyannis Food Pantry and was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Church.
She leaves her sons, Paul E. Keane (Patricia) of Glen, New Hampshire and David R. Keane (Paula) of South Easton; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Keane (Kim) of Attleborough, Stephen Keane (Lauren) of Framingham, Erica Paparazzo (Anthony) of Scituate and Bryan Keane (Alexandra) of Johnston, Rhode Island; her great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma and Anthony; a niece, Janice Lally and a close family friend, Kathy Picariello.
Family and friends will honor and remember Doris's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, May 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude's Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
