Doris L. Lennon

July 23, 1929 — April 12, 2020

Mrs. Doris L. (Foote) Lennon, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Waltham died on April 12, 2020 at Care One in Millbury. She was 90 years old.

Doris was born in Waltham on July 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence (Harvey) Foote. After graduating from Waltham High School she began working at the Uptown Restaurant in Banks Square; it was here she would meet a young James M. Lennon who had recently returned home from World War II. They would soon be married and lived for a short time in Weston before settling in Waltham where they would raise their four children. Until her retirement she had worked in the kitchen at Brandeis University, a job she loved and held for over 20 years. Always one to stay active, she belonged to the South Side Senior Center and also enjoyed playing the accordion and piano. Her life revolved around her family and she especially relished time spent with her grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of the late James M. Lennon and is survived by her children, Frances L. Bourgeois (Raymond) of Florida, Diane M. Champagne (late Brian) of Shrewsbury, James 'Clyde' Lennon (Jenni) of Mashpee and Robert P. 'Bob' Lennon (Zueylha) of Grafton; her grandchildren, Susan, Nancy, Michael, Carolyn, Kathryn, Kirin, Sheila, Leo, Christopher, Bobby and Matthew and also leaves many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Maurice Foote.

Funeral services and burial in Linwood Cemetery, Weston are private as a result of the ongoing health crisis in the world and our community.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Ascend Hospice, 100 Locke Drive, Marlborough, MA 01752.
