Doris McGovern

Waltham- Mrs. Doris (Leger) McGovern of Waltham died Friday November 11, 2005 in Newton- Wellesley Hospital. She was 81. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Phillias and Leone (Fagan) Leger, she worked for many years for the Waltham Watch Factory and until her retirement she worked for twenty years as a sales clerk for Zayre’s Department Stores in Waltham. She also worked as a poll checker on Election Days in Waltham. She was the wife of the late Francis J. ‘Bud’ McGovern and sister of the late Edgar, John, Irene, Henry Leger and Evelyn Boss. She is survived by her children, Francis J. McGovern, Jr of Natick, Stephen . McGovern of Buda, TX, Kevin McGovern and his wife Doreen, of Waltham, and Ann Marie ‘Ree’ McGovern- Theriault and her husband David of Natick; her grandchildren Stephen P. McGovern, JR and his wife Detra, CWO2 Scott M. Munger, U.S.A. and his wife Shino, Sean D. Munger, USMC, Keith, Keri, Patrick, Stacey, and Chelsea McGovern, and Gabrielle ‘Breezy’ Theriault; her great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, and Griffin.; one brother Robert Leger of Natick. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
