Berlin – Mrs. Doris M. (Norton) McKenna, of Berlin, formerly of Marlborough, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Framingham Union Hospital. She was 85.
Doris was born in Everett and raised in Waltham by her aunt and uncle, the late Grace and Tom Norton. She was a graduate of Saint Bernard's High School in West Newton.
On August 29, 1954 she married Waltham native William J. McKenna in Saint Charles Borromeo Church and the couple lived in Waltham before moving to Marlborough in 1962. Retirement brought a move to South Yarmouth in 1987 and they later lived in Northborough and in Berlin.
Prior to her marriage and raising her family Doris worked as a bookkeeper in Waltham and in later years worked as nurse's aide at Marlborough Hospital.
Doris and Bill enjoyed fifty-eight years together before Bill's death on September 26, 2012.
She leaves her children, Nancy M. Deveau and her husband, William, of Northborough, Ruthann McKenna of Dennis, William J. McKenna, Jr., and his fiancée, Elaine Wood, of Hudson and Patricia E. Iannone and her husband, Gary, of East Hampton Connecticut; her grandchildren, Christine Lincoln and her husband, Jon, Laura Scott and her husband, Michael, Michael Deveau, Christopher Moore and his wife, Veronica, Ian Moore and his wife, Carissa, Evan Moore, William J. McKenna III, Mary Claire McKenna, Matthew Iannone and his wife, Heather, and Alex Iannone; her great grandchildren, Jack Lincoln, McKenna Lincoln, Grant Moore, Victor Moore, John Moore, and Cole Moore; her brother, Philip Norton of Bourne; her sisters, Grace Carney of Centerville and Jane Norton of Philadelphia Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was also the mother of the late Jane I. Moore-Easterbrooks and a sister of the late Melvin Norton, Thomas Norton, Mary Ahearn and Ann Norton.
Family and friends will honor and remember Doris' life by gathering for calling hours in the John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Marlborough on Sunday, November 5th from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect Street, Marlborough, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough.
