Ms. Doris A. Sasser, of Watertown died Friday, May 21, 2021 peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was 84.
Ms. Sasser was born in Rockingham, NC on June 17, 1936, a daughter of the late Samuel and Georgia Sasser.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth S. Lingo and her husband, Jonathan, of Annapolis, Maryland. Nieces Kathi Ross and her husband Larry of Arizona, Marcy Nicholas and her husband Randy of Colorado, Sherry Ann Heyse and husband Daniel of Florida, Lenora Price and her husband Russ of Texas and nephew Bob Hendricks and his wife Nadine of California. She is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Drexel University in 1958 where she was a member of the Student Government Association serving as senior class president & elected to who's who among students in American Universities and colleges for outstanding leadership. She was a member of the class of 1959 at the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in Business Administration. She made lifelong friends at both colleges. She worked in Washington DC where she was in charge of consumer education under Virginia Knauer, special assistant to President Nixon in Consumer Affair's. She returned to Boston where she spent decades in the real estate business which she loved with a passion. She loved travelling and learning new things. She empowered women in business, creating great relationships.
