Carlsbad, Calif. - Mrs. Doris E. (Pruy) Vanaria, of Carlsbad, formerly of Waltham, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at Silverado Nursing Home in Encinitas, California. She was 83. Doris was born in Germany on November 27, 1925, a daughter of the late Johann and Klara (Sturm) Vanaria, and had lived in Waltham for most of her life before moving to California seven years ago. Until her retirement she worked as a dental assistant for forty years with her late husband, Dr. Anthony A. Vanaria whose practice was in Waltham. She leaves her children, Captain Anthony A. Vanaria, IV, U.S.N. (Ret.) of Carlsbad, Ca, Marilyn V. Lyons, D.M.D. of Amesbury and Linda L. Strassberger of Orlando, Florida; her grandchildren Annette, Christopher, Adam, Kristin, Matthew and April as well many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor and remember Doris's life by gathering for a graveside committal service on Thursday, July 16 at 11 a.m. in Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham.
