Waltham – Mrs. Doris A. (Killoren) Wilson, of Waltham, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Cambridge Hospital. She was 78.
Doris was born in Cambridge on July 5, 1932, a daughter of the late Francis and Dorothea (Cuthbert) Killoren, and had lived in Waltham for more than fifty years. Until her retirement she had worked for many years as a cafeteria manager for Arkwright-Boston Insurance Company.
She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her especially her friends and her grandchildren. She enjoyed preparing meals and entertaining at many holiday parties and various cookouts with family and neighbors. She also enjoyed music and dancing.
Doris was the wife of the late Water A. Wilson who died on July 20, 2000.
She leaves her children, Brian J. Wilson and his wife, Meg, of East Falmouth and Dodie A. ‘Doris’ Wilson of Waltham; her grandchildren, Brianna, Michael, Amy, and Marc; her brother, Jackie Killoren and his wife, Brenda, of Florida; her sisters, Emma Malone and her husband, John, of Belmont and Harriett MacAskill and her husband, Norman, of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was also a sister of the late James Killoren, Edward Killoren, and Helen Stinson.
Family and friends will honor and remember Doris’ life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Sunday, February 6th, from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
