Waltham – Mrs. Dorothy M. (Pendergast) Aborn, of Waltham, died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Meadow Green Nursing Home. She was 92.
Dorothy was born in Waltham on April 2, 1925, a daughter of the late John J., Sr. and Mary E. (Hurley) Pendergast and was a graduate of Waltham High School. She lived in Waltham her entire life where she and her late husband, Vincent L. Aborn, raised their family and had been members of Our Lady's Parish.
She leaves her children, Gail P. Griffin of Brockton, Karen E. Riley of Walpole and Paul V. Aborn and his wife, Linda, of Waltham; her sister and brothers, Mary Keyes of Needham, Matthew Pendergast of Marlboro, Richard Pendergast of Billerica and James Pendergast of Wells, Maine; her sister-in-law, Marilyn C. Aborn of Waltham; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was the mother of the late Greg M. Aborn and sister of the late John Pendergast, Jr., William Pendergast and Daniel Pendergast.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dorothy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 26th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
