Dorothy G. Brooks

Watertown - Mrs. Dorothy G. (Russo) Brooks, of Watertown, formerly of Newton, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. She was 87. Born in Watertown, a daughter of the late Fernando and Mary (Iodice) Russo, Dorothy worked for many years as a produce manager at Russo's Market in Watertown and at Franco's Supermarket in Newton Highlands. Dorothy's family would like to thank the staff at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center for the excellent care that she received during her illness. She was the wife of the late Francis F. "Frank" Brooks and sister of the late Al Russo, Esther Ferro, Florence White and Teresa Montgomery. Dorothy leaves her son, David F. Brooks and his wife, Judy, of Weston; her grandchildren, David Brooks of Hudson, Kristy Merhib of Milford, Holly Patten of Brooklyn, New York, and Justin Brooks of Grafton; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Jacob and Zoe; many nieces and nephews; her favorite dogs, Oliver and Damian; and her cat, Muffin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
