Dorothy M. Haynes

Newton - Ms. Dorothy M. 'Dotty' Haynes, of Newton, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 83.

Dotty was born in Waltham on September 12, 1929 and was a daughter of the late Richard and Beatrice (Cowell) Haynes. She was a Waltham High School graduate and worked as a secretary for the General Electric Company until her retirement.

She is survived by her niece, Linda Macfarlane, and her husband, Dick, of Ashland; her grandniece, Jen Brenneman and her husband, Matthew; her grandnephew, Brian Macfarlane and his wife, Megan; and her great grandnieces and great grandnephews, Cameron, Madelyn, and Tyson Brenneman and Jack Macfarlane.

Family and friends will honor and remember Dotty's life by gathering at 9 a.m. on Friday, January 4th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, where her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
