Waltham – Dorothy E. Lassman, of Waltham, died April 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 83.
Dorothy was born in Waltham on May 30, 1927, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (MacDonald) Lever. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Waltham and had worked as an inspector in the power tube division of Raytheon until her retirement. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her family as being sweet, loving, kind and generous.
She was the wife of the late Richard C. Lassman and sister of the late Edward Lever.
She leaves her children Richard Lassman and his wife, Pam, of Clinton, Robert Lassman and his wife, Phyllis, of Franklin, Ronald Lassman of Lowell, Donald Lassman of Waltham, LouAnne DeMatteo and her husband, Anthony, of Tewksbury, Diane Gaskill and her husband, Robert, of Waltham, and Steven Lassman and his wife, Clara, of Bourne; her brothers William Lever of Florida, Francis Lever of Colorado and Donald Lever of Maine; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dorothy’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, where her Liturgical Blessing will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1 p.m.
