Dorothy E. Lyons

Mrs. Dorothy E. (Banks) Lyons of Everett, formerly of Waltham, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in the Everett Nursing and Rehab. Center. She was 88. Mrs. Lyons was born in Leominster on January 30, 1923, a daughter of the late Howard and Evelyn (Condon) Banks.

Dorothy was raised in Boston and graduated from Dorchester Girls' High School. She had moved to New Hampshire and had lived in Waltham for most of her life, before moving to Everett.

Dorothy was a secretary in the insurance department for twenty-five years at Coleman & Sons in Waltham.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy E. Slade and her husband, Richard M. 'Dallas' Slade, of Waltham, and her brother, Homer 'Chuck' Banks and his wife, Yvette, of Manchester, NH.

Dorothy was also the sister of the late Howard Banks.

Family and friends will honor and remember Dorothy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Friday, October 21st, from 4-8 pm and again at 11 am Saturday morning when her Funeral Service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
