Watertown - Miss Dorothy P. Manning of Watertown, died Friday March 3, 2006 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 81. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late William F. and Nellie (Loughlin) Manning, she graduated from Saint Charles School in Waltham prior to attending the Sisters of Saint Joseph Novitiate in Framingham in 1943. She was a graduate of Regis College in Weston. During her twenty-five year service to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, she was an elementary school teacher at Saint Matthews School in Dorchester, St. James School in Haverhill, and Gate of Heaven School in South Boston. Miss Manning continued her teaching career after leaving the St. Josephs Order at the Fox Hill Elementary School in Burlington from 1968 to 1993. She was the sister of the late Francis Manning, Helen Mitchell, and Irene Manning. Dorothy is survived by many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
