Dorothy Ann 'Dot' (Worden) Pickette of Northbridge, formerly of Waltham and Naples, FL, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was 87.
Dot was born on October 11, 1934 in Somerville the only child of the late Harold J. and Louise (Doyle) Worden. Raised in Waltham she was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and worked for New England Telegraph & Telephone Company. She married Thomas Robert Pickette on February 4, 1956 in Saint Luke's Church in Belmont.
Longtime Waltham residents they also divided their time between their homes in Bristol, Rhode Island and Naples, Florida. They moved to Northbridge seventeen years ago.
Besides spending time with her family, Dot enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, shopping, sailing, and traveling. Dot was considered an angel on earth by all who knew and loved her and will be very much missed.
In addition to her husband of 65 years, Bob, she leaves their children, Karen Petrie (Mike Incuto) of Hyannis, Thomas R. Pickette (Karen) of Burlington, Timothy R. Pickette (Cindy) of Stoughton, Dorothy A. Wentworth (James) of Shrewsbury, Jacqueline A. Steffon (Greg) of Holden, Jenifer A. Thompson (Thomas) of Norfolk, James F. Pickette (Megan) of Belmont, and Peter E. Pickette (Sarah) of Rye, New York; Dot will also be dearly missed by her twenty-one grandchildren, Richard, Sean, Shannon and Mike, Ryan and Achai, Ashley, Tommy and Julie, Kevin and Marea, Jeffrey, Samantha, Lauren and Ben, Daniel, Michael, Antonio, Victoria, Andrew, Matthew, Caitlin, Owen, Elly, Anna, Ethan and two great grandchildren, Katherine and Tommy IV; many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dorothy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, January 23rd from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial is private.
