Waltham – Mrs. Dorothy F. (Lively) Roche, of Waltham, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Care One Nursing Center in Lexington. She was 79.
Dorothy was born in Boston on November 25, 1936, a daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Dickson) Lively. She lived in Somerville for a time before moving to Waltham as a teenager.
After graduating from Waltham High School in 1955 she attended Fisher Junior College in Boston. Until her retirement she worked for a number of years at Photek in Waltham and before that was a hostess at the Cottage Crest Restaurant.
She was the wife of the late Donald P. Roche and the sister of the late Walter Lively, Wayne Lively and Diane Lively.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Kelly F. Dufour and her husband, Mark, of Watertown, Kim F. Gentile and her husband, Jack, of Waltham and Donald P. Roche and his wife, Theresa, of Orange, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Marquelle Dufour, John Gentile, Diane Gentile, Keenan Roche and Nolan Roche and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dorothy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, May 18th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont where her Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
