Mrs. Dorothy A. (LaMountain) Saltalamacchia, of Waltham, died Monday, January 29, 2024 in her home surrounded by her husband and family. She was 89.
Dorothy was born in Brighton on October 6, 1934, a daughter of the late Leonard and Fallah (Saunders) LaMountain. A graduate of Saint Columbkille High School in Brighton, she had worked as a technician in digital media storage for many years until her retirement. She married her beloved husband of more than 68 years, Vincent Saltalamacchia on July 17, 1955. They moved to Waltham to raise their family and have been residents since.
She was the mother of the late Carol Saltalamacchia, and sister of the late Grace, Mary, Phil, and Lenny.
In addition to her husband, Vincent, she leaves her daughter Susan L. Tebeau (Erik) her grandson Patrick Tebeau, sons Keith Saltalamacchia and Vincent Saltalamacchia, Jr., daughter Cheryl Arcese; her sister-in-law, Janice Saltalamacchia, and dear friends Jimmy and the late Chris Patrikis.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dorothy’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Sunday, February 4th from 2 to 4 p.m. and again Monday morning at 9 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2 p.m.
