Dorothy N.A. Travassos

Waltham - Mrs. Dorothy N.A. 'Dolly' (Gale) Travassos, of Waltham, formerly of Watertown, died Friday, July 31, 2009 in The Leland Home in Waltham. She was 83. Dorothy was born on November 28, 1925, in Boston, a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Hook) Gale. She had lived in Watertown for many years before moving to Waltham five years ago. Dorothy was raised in Allston and graduated from Brighton High School. She was employed by the Bank of Boston at the age of seventeen, and remained at the bank for over forty years where she was a Human Resources Clerk. Dorothy was a member of The Community Church in Watertown. She was the sister of the late Russell J. Gale and is survived by her niece, Sandra Cogdell of Reston, Virginia and her nephews, Bruce Gale of Sun Lakes, Arizona and Kurt Gale of Houston, Texas. Family and friends will honor remember Dolly's life by gathering for a graveside service on Thursday, October 1st, at 11:30 a.m. in Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N. State Street, Concord, New Hampshire.
