Waltham- Mrs. Dorothy E. (Burns) Vienneau of Waltham died Thursday February 11, 2010 at Meadow Green Nursing Center in Waltham. She was 88. Born on July 16, 1921 in Lowell, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Pink) Burns, Dorothy was a resident of Waltham since 1946 and worked for over thirty-five years as a private secretary for the vice president of the Raytheon Corporation. She was also a former president for the Reserve Officers Association League, a former volunteer and treasurer for the Walter E. Fernald School Association in Waltham, a volunteer for many years for the Carroll Center for the Blind, the Waltham Public Schools, and in her spare time she enjoyed bowling, and crossword puzzles. She leaves her daughter, Dorothy R. Jensen of Waltham, her grandson, Christopher Jensen and his wife, Lisa, of Waltham, and her great-grandson, Erik Jensen. Dorothy was the wife of the late Ernest L. Vienneau and sister of the late Evelyn Burns. Family and friends will honor and remember Dorothy's life by gathering for visitation at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte.20), Waltham on Saturday from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass which will be held in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Carroll Center for the Blind, 770 Centre Street, Newton, MA 02458.
