Waltham – Mrs. Edith G. (Maniace) Creonte of Waltham died Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Belmont Manor Nursing Home. She was 88. Edith was born on March 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (DeStefano) Maniace. She graduated Waltham High School in 1941 and was a lifelong Waltham resident.
Edith was an accounts receivable clerk for twenty two years at The Waltham Hospital until her retirement.
She was the wife of the late Augustine A. Creonte, the mother in law of the late John J. Fitzgerald, and the sister of the late Anthony Maniace, Virginia Maniace, Carmela DiVecchio, Charles Maniace, Eleanor DiGregorio, Josephine Ricci, Yolanda ‘Helen’Salamone, and Sarah Tranchita.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Fitzgerald of Waltham, her son, Augustine A. Creonte, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Missouri, her brother, Henry R. Maniace of Chestnut Hill, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Edith’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 5th, at 10 am in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
