Waltham - Mrs. Edith A. (Crossley) Wrynn, of Waltham, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 in Highgate Manor in Dedham. She was 86.
Edith was born on April 24, 1929 in Somerville a daughter of George and Marie (Mullen) Crossley. She graduated from Waltham High School and began work as a teller at the former Baybank in Watertown Square. She married Thomas P. Wrynn on July 28, 1951 and was married to him for 25 years until his death on December 7, 1976. Edith worked for many years in the accounts receivable department at Bentley College.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Our Lady's Parish in Waltham. Edith loved travelling, cruises with her husband and friends and time spent at the beach in her much loved York, Maine.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is predeceased by her brothers, George and Edward Crossley.
She leaves her children, Cheryl A. and her husband, John Bergen of Walpole, Thomas P. Wrynn Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Wrentham and Cynthia A. 'Cindy' Gowdy and her husband, Ron of Waltham; her grandchildren, Jack, Brynne and Marykate Bergen, Billy and Jennifer Wrynn, Jonathan and Clayton Maracle, Julie, Samantha, Kelly and Ronnie Gowdy; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and close family friends, Cathy Kelly of Wrentham and Joan Fongeallaz of Middleboro.
Family and friends will honor and remember Edith's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, October 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
