Waltham – Mr. Edmund R. Joyal of Waltham died Wednesday August 10, 2005 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was 83. Born in Waltham, a son of the late Alde and Vizina (LeBlanc) Joyal, he was a lifelong resident of Waltham. Until his retirement, Mr. Joyal was the Recreation Supervisor for the Waltham Parks and Recreation Department. He was also one of the founders of the Warrendale Little League and Waltham Pony League. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was the husband of the late Anne P. (Cannistraro) Joyal, father of the late Kevin P. Joyal and brother of the late Henry Joyal. He is survived by his children, Edmund R. Joyal, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Judy A. Correia of Waltham, James K. Joyal of Watertown and Paul R. Joyal of Reading; two brothers, Richard Joyal of Plymouth and Eugene Joyal of Canton; four sisters, Eleanor Gorgone and Irene Murray both of Waltham, Phyllis Deveaux of Milford, and Claire Knouse of Conn.; his grandchildren, Patrick Joyal, Melissa and Alex Correia, Jeffrey, Jenny, Nicole and Matthew Joyal, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Save the Children, 5 Wilton Road, Westport, CT 06880
