Edmund P. Wiker

Fall River - Dr. Edmund P. Wiker, of Fall River, formerly of Waltham, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 66.
Born in Waltham, a son of Balbina M. (Maslowski) Wiker of Florida and the late Charles M. Wiker, Dr. Wiker was a pediatrician at Greater New Bedford Community Health Center since 1999. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1999, Dr. Wiker maintained a practice at Pediatric Associates of New Bedford.
Dr. Wiker also practiced for twenty-three years as a pediatrician for the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Army. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his family and was an avid Red Sox Fan.
In addition to his mother, Dr. Wiker leaves his wife, Margaret M. (Russell) Wiker; his children, Dominic E. Wiker of Baltimore, Maryland and Gretchen B. Wiker of New York; one sister, Janet M. Calvert of Orange Park, Florida; one brother, Charles M. Wiker of Chester, Virginia; his grandaughter, Alexandria B. Wiker and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 main Street (Rte.20) Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
