Watertown – Mr. Edward P. Ambrogio, of Watertown, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his home. He was 69.
Ed was born in Newton on August 29, 1948, a son of the late Charles and Caroline (Zani) Ambrogio. He was raised in Natick and graduated from Natick High School. Ed was a proud graduate of Northeastern University in Boston where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in electrical engineering. He later achieved an MBA at Bentley College in Waltham.
He worked his entire career as an electrical engineer working on various energy pipeline transmission projects. Most recently he worked with Kleinfelder, a Cambridge consulting firm, and before that for Iroquois Energy and Algonquin Power.
In July, 1977 Ed married Kathleen Griffin in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church in Waltham and later the same year the couple became lifelong Watertown residents.
A man of many and varied interests Ed was a fan of the Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, an English soccer team; he was a member of the Scottish Terrier Club of New England and had a keen interest in antique cars of all types. Visits to the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline and to the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Maine were always fun destinations.
Ed cherished time spent with his family and last summer had the trip of a lifetime with them to the land of his roots, Italy. Visits to Rome, Venice, Florence, Tuscany and Assisi were among many places visited. A few months later, and despite his illness, he had the privilege of walking his daughter, Keara, down the aisle at Our Lady's on her wedding day.
