Edward T. Boudrot, 85, of Belmont, died peacefully on May 7, 2018, lovingly surrounded by his five children and their families. Son of Edward N. and Mary (Kenney) Boudrot, Ed was born on October 5, 1932, raised in Cambridge, graduated from the Cambridge Latin School, and joined the Air Force, serving in Germany. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Frances (Patti) Connors Boudrot and leaves his beloved daughters Sylvia Martin and husband James of Reading; Patricia Ann Boudrot and husband Harry Bedig of Watertown; Suzette Rielly and husband Thomas of Burlington; Christine Winn and husband Robert of Waltham; and son Edward Boudrot of Magnolia. Proud grandfather of Lisa Gallini and husband Michael; Patrick Bedig, Casey Bedig, Patrick Rielly, Erin Rielly, Robert Sullivan Winn, Alicia Winn, and Mary Winn. Devoted great-grandfather of Emily and Andrew Gallini. Survived by his sisters Jacqueline Buckley of Concord; Annette Carroll and husband Robert of Winchester; and Richard Boudrot and wife Paulette of Falmouth. Predeceased by sisters Mary Murphy and Jean Cleary and brother Stephen Boudrot. Caring brother-in-law of Dorothy Boulanger and husband William of Dedham, as well as uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Belmont resident for 50 years, Ed worked in Polaroid's engineering department in Cambridge during the day while earning his college degree at Northeastern at night. He enjoyed his retirement years taking his grandchildren for walks and picnics, rooting for Boston sports, watching movies, and listening to music. He loved his weekend traditions: Saturdays playing Keno with his buddies at the American Legion in Waltham and Sundays having breakfast out with his son and grandchildren. A great story teller, Ed's family and friends will never forget his wry sense of humor and deadpan delivery. Most of all, he will be remembered for his love of life and family. When anyone asked him how he was, he always answered sincerely, "Great. Really great" no matter what kind of day he was having.
A private service for family will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 11, at Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham, with burial following at Belmont Cemetery. A Gathering for family and friends at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown will take place at 12:30pm also on Friday.
