Waltham – Mr. Edward G. Favre, of Waltham, died in his home on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. He was 88.
Ed was born in Brighton on March 30, 1926, a son of the late Edward A. and Johanna (Stalder) Favre. He graduated from Waltham High School and then went on to serve with the United States Navy during both World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He married Rose M. Farina on April 23, 1950 in Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Newton and the couple spent over sixty happy years together. Until his retirement he had worked as a machinist assembler at Genrad Corporation in Concord.
He was the husband of the late Rose M. (Farina) Favre and is survived by his children, Michael A. Favre and his partner, Bruce Ogden, of Wells, Maine, David A. Favre and his wife, Saipin, and Edward A. Favre, all of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren, Daniel, David and Lisa Favre; his siblings, George Favre of Nova Scotia and Barbara Terry of Whitinsville and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was also the father of the late Mary M. Favre and brother of the late Helen Anders and Esther Favre.
