Mr. Edward Gandolfo of Nashua, New Hampshire, formerly of Waltham died Saturday November 6, 2010 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. He was 93.
Edward was born in Watertown on October 21, 1917, a son of the late Charles and Rose (Caruso) Gandolfo and had lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Nashua two years ago. Ed worked for many years for both the Newtron Company in Newton and until his retirement at Dexter Company in Watertown where he was a multi-talented and valued employee. Ed was a member of the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post # 156 in Waltham, and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, cooking and could fix just about anything he put his mind to. He was also a World War II Veteran serving with the United States Army.
He was the husband of the late Ruth M. (Grady) Gandolfo, he leaves his children, Judith A. Montminy and her husband, Arthur, of Litchfield, New Hampshire, Edward R. Gandolfo of Newburyport, and Elizabeth J. Rifkin of Litchfield, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Arthur Montminy, III, Jeffrey Montminy, Kristin Dube and her husband John, Jason, Chelsey, and Kaylyn Rifkin.; his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, and Juliet. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Edward’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown.
