Marshfield – Mr. Egidio Morganti, of Marshfield, formerly of East Boston, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. He was 87. Born in Boston, a son of the late Raffaello and Giorgia (Catoni) Morganti, he had been a resident of East Boston before moving to Marshfield twenty years ago. Until his retirement, Mr. Morganti worked as an order assembler for Colonial Provisions Company in Boston. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army's 501st Military Police Battalion. The husband of the late Adele (Catoni) Morganti, he leaves his children, Charlotte A. Mulone and her husband, Joseph, of Waltham and Victoria M. 'Vicky' Lynch and her husband, Kevin, of Marshfield; his daughter-in-law, Joanne Morganti of Derry, New Hampshire; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Daniel E. Morganti and brother of the late Raffaella Saisi, Rosa Trimboli and Vincenza Morganti. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
