Weston – Mrs. Eileen D. (Black) Thibeault, of Weston, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster. She was 93.
Eileen was born in Newton on April 6, 1919, a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Helen F. (Callahan) Black. She was raised and educated in Newton, graduating from the local high school in 1937. After that she earned an associate's degree in business from Bentley College.
She worked primarily as an administrative assistant at Digital Equipment Company before retiring in 1984. During World War II she served as a nurse's aide at the former Murphy Army Hospital in Waltham. It was during the war, on July 4, 1942, that she married Francis C. Thibeault. The couple lived most of their lives in Waltham where they raised their family before moving to Weston in 1995. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage before Frank's passing on July 19, 2007.
In her retirement she was a member and a volunteer at the Weston Senior Citizens Club, the Council on Aging and at her church, Saint Julias's in Weston Center.
Eileen leaves her children, Diane M. Kotsaftis of Littleton, Nancy T. Hamby of Memphis, Tennessee, Susan D. Emmert of Sagamore Beach, Charles T. Thibeault of West Roxbury, Robert F. Thibeault of Brewster, Richard P. Thibeault of Springfield, Ohio, David A. Thibeault of Fitchburg and Francis C. Thibeault, Jr. of West Roxbury; her brother, Thomas H. Black, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Paul F. Thibeault and a sister of the late Helen F. McAleer and Marjorie L. Caton.
Family and friends will honor and remember Eileen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, September 4th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
