Eleanor E. (Vinciulla) Aucoin

Waltham – Mrs. Eleanor E. (Vinciulla) Aucoin, of Waltham, died Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Dorothy Frances Home in Waltham. She was 91.

Eleanor was born in Waltham on July 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Nunzio and Nunziata (Moltisanta) Vinciulla, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and after raising her children she went back to school where she trained as a nurse's aide and worked for several years at Waltham Hospital.

She married Waltham native Joseph G. 'Jerry' Aucoin in 1949 and the couple enjoyed sixty-two years together before Jerry's death on May 25, 2011. The couple spent many happy summer weekends at Wells Beach, Maine and in the off-season in Hyannis.

Eleanor leaves her children, Gerard Aucoin (Betty) of Natick, David Aucoin (Maryjean) of Methuen, Karen Platteborze (Curt) of New Hampton, New Hampsire, Mary Ann Rose of Waltham, Sandra McMahon (Kevin) of Waltham and Nancy Aucoin of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Meredith, Jared and Kerrin Aucoin, Jeannine Kaatz, Stephanie Ruggiero, Elise Ludgin, Paul and Melissa Bohannon, Kristen, Joey and Matthew Rose, Michael and Nicole McMahon and Jillian Aucoin; her great-grandchildren, Mila, Finley, Quinn, Avery, Olivia, Elaina, Noah, Molly, Finn, Milo, Bruce, Hailey and Chloe and many nieces and nephews.

She was also a sister of the late Philip Vinciulla, Angelina Maselli, Frances Consoli and Joseph Vinciulla.

Family and friends will honor and remember Eleanor's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, March 16th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning when her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
