Wayland - Mrs. Eleanor J. (Jahn) Knotts, of Wayland, formerly of Medfield, died Monday, April 20, 2009 at Wingate at Sudbury. She was 97. Eleanor was born on April 8, 1912 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a daughter of the late G. Adolph and Florence (Dennison) Jahn. She was raised and educated in the Philadelphia area and had been a resident before moving to Wellesley in 1965. Three years later she moved to Medfield where she lived until 2003. After that, Eleanor made her home with her daughter in Wayland. Until her retirement she worked as an accountant at Babson College in Wellesley. Eleanor was a longtime member of Christ Church United Methodist in Wellesley where she had been a member of the choir and various women's groups. She was also active in P.E.O. The wife of the late Ernest Ellis Knotts, she leaves her children, Gail Morrissey and her husband, James, of Wayland, Virginia Knotts of Watertown and Rev. Dr. David A. Knotts and his wife, Sandra, of Reading, Pennsylvania; her sister, Helen Kennard of Media, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Jacqueline Bullock and a sister of the late Florence Keller. Family and friends will honor and remember Eleanor's life by gathering for a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15th in Christ United Methodist Church, 2 Brook Street, Wellesley. Committal Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m. in the West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
