Waltham - Mrs. Eleanor “Ellie” Claire (Murray) LeLievre, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, December 4, 2024 in Life Care Center of Estero in Estero, FL. She was 77. Ellie was married to Donald T. LeLievre, who predeceased her in 2021 after enjoying 48 years of marriage together. Ellie was born on May 15, 1947 in Winthrop, MA, a daughter of the late Raymond and Pauline (Nickelson) Murray and sister to Willard Murray. She was a graduate of Winthrop High School.
Growing up in Winthrop, she was a devoted daughter, sister and friend, forming bonds that would last a lifetime. Ellie's life took a beautiful turn in 1972 when she met Don at Brother's Restaurant in Winthrop, MA. They were married in June 1973, and Ellie embraced her new role as a mother to Don’s three teenage sons with love, strength, and unwavering dedication. She became not just a mother, but a trusted friend to many in her family.
Ellie’s warmth and bubbly personality made her an instant friend to strangers and endeared her to her extended family, including her sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, with whom she shared many special relationships. Over the years, Ellie held various roles, including a position at Grover Cronin’s on Moody Street in Waltham, MA. But her true calling was the love and care she provided as a mother and caregiver, making her home a sanctuary for the many children who passed through her life.
During her years in Waltham, MA, Ellie found her most fulfilling role as a childcare provider in her home. She poured her heart into nurturing children and her grandchildren, forming lifelong relationships with the families she served. This chapter of her life was her most cherished, as she touched countless lives with her love and care.
Ellie was a warm, vibrant, and compassionate woman whose kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She concluded her career as a beloved receptionist at Northern Trust Bank in Bonita Springs, FL, where her coworkers treasured her lively spirit and caring nature.
Her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Stacey, her first and only daughter, held a special place in her heart, and Matthew, was her forever baby boy. Ellie’s strength, compassion, and remarkable ability to connect with others will forever be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
Eleanor leaves behind her children, Stacey A. Phelps (Clayton) of Glen Allen, Virginia, and Matthew J. LeLievre (Jodie) of Estero, Florida; Donald L. LeLievre (Laurel) of Washington, Indiana, Scott A. LeLievre (Janice) of Waltham, Massachusetts, David K.
